Uboye is a Waorani leader and spokesperson for the community of Titepare in Ecuador. He works in the conservation of biodiversity and the restoration of endangered animals and freshwater fish, as well as photography and filming of the Wao Terero mother tongue. He has worked for more than 15 years as a consultant in several anthropological projects on the Waorani culture. His areas of interest are documentation technology, Waorani oral history, community politics, ancestral wisdom and Wao Terero grammar. In 2011, in Austin, Texas, he presented a paper on Ideophones in the Wao Terero language at the International Congress of Indigenous Languages of Latin America – V CILLA. He is currently working on the grammatical analysis of Wao Terero with a focus on Wao gestures.
